Coming from a musical family, Lyndy started playing piano when he was eight years old. Influences have been Carole King, Elton John, 60’s and 70’s bands and the jazz greats. After studying music at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, he traveled and played coast to coast in the early 80’s, including studio work in Philadelphia and Nashville. Since then, he has enjoyed playing traditional jazz in the upper Midwest and the Caribbean with the Jumping Jehosafats, and a variety of other styles with bands in the Twin Cities. He has written more than one hundred songs and recorded/published over thirty of them, some by World Beat Connection. His music is eclectic – a bit of Americana mixed with classic jazz and pop standards. When asked why he plays music, Lyndy says, “I like to entertain and bring people together through music. If I can make someone happy through a song, then I’ve done my job. If it’s a song I’ve written, it’s a plus.”
